Elephant Safari Reopens at Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Morigaon: The elephant riding point at Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary has officially reopened for tourists. The reopening ceremony was conducted by Vinay Gupta, IFS, Chief Wildlife Warden and PCCF (Wildlife), in the presence of Alekh Saxena, IFS, DFO Guwahati Wildlife Division, Mukul Tamuli, AFS (Retd. ACF), Pranjal Baruah, AFS, RFO Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, along with mahouts and sanctuary staff.
Starting November 12, 2025, visitors can enjoy elephant safaris in two morning slots — 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM.
Tourists can book rides online at pobitorasafari.in or directly at the Help Desk located at the sanctuary.
Earlier, the Jeep Safari at Pobitora was inaugurated on October 23, 2025, by Assam Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary.
The reopening of the elephant safari marks the full resumption of wildlife tourism activities at Pobitora, known for its high density of the one-horned rhinoceros and rich biodiversity, promising an exciting experience for nature enthusiasts and visitors alike.
